The Runner

Olivier Geissler was named Director of the Swiss Foundation of ISS in July 2015.

After joining ISS Switzerland in 2002, he worked as project manager before becoming the Head of International Programmes. Olivier worked mostly with developing countries and countries in transition in the field of child protection. In Eastern Europe, he played a role in the reform of social institutions and for the social and professional integration of youth lacking parental care. In West Africa, he developed a regional collaborative network for the transnational care of children and young migrants (WAN*).

As an enthusiastic mountain racer, he runs ultra marathons (distances greater than 42 km) since 8 years. Since 2008, he has completed 11 ultra-trails any many for the benefit of vulnerable children in West Africa.
This year he will attempt a new challenge: a quadruple marathon run in 4 days in 4 countries of West Africa.
